Super Presse Club: New Collective of Montreal Printmakers and Pop-Up Shop

by Denis on November 24, 2011

Wonderful news this morning about the creation of a Montreal-based printmakers’ collective which adopted the name of Super Presse Club. It currently has fourteen members from Montreal’s prolific printmaking community, including rock poster innovators Seripop; local sérigraphie hero Simon Bossé; internationally renowned comic book author Julie Doucet; radical ink slinger and only Canadian member of the Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative Jesse Purcell; Montreal rock legend and paper-warrior Dominique Pétrin; illustrator-artist mastermind Breeree; black line guru, member of En Masse and muralist Tyler Rauman; surrealist mind-fuck maker Jacinthe Loranger; the technical wizardry of Daygristle screens; the paper ministries of Kirsten McCrea and JP King; the iron beasts and wooden letters of Popolo Press; and the optical illusions of Nomryn.

Their first initiative will be a pop-up shop which will take place at Casa del Popolo starting on December 1st where they will offer their wares for sale, i.e. posters, art prints, books, limited editions, one of a kind collages, accessories, cards. People are also invited to a blowout hands on printmaking extravaganza opening party on Saturday, December 3 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM with live printmaking, wet ink, artists in house and much imbibing!
