Two Limited Edition Prints by Heidi Taillefer

by Denis on February 2, 2011

Some years ago, the first time Cirque du Soleil really got my attention was through a street poster advertising their show Dralion. The emblematic surreal dragon featured on the poster caught my eye and I was drawn into examining the image and marveled at the details. It was a few years later, while in a gallery looking at some paintings whose style was vaguely famliar, that I learned the name of the artist behind that Dralion poster and she’s someone whose paintings I’ve been admiring ever since. Her name is Heidi Taillefer.

It is not without a substantial dose of excitement that we are offering, as of today, two limited edition prints from Ms. Taillefer, Venus Envy and Killing For Sport. These are the first limited edition prints to be offered by Heidi Taillefer and only 40 copies of each have been printed. Her work is an original creative fusion of classical figurative painting, surrealism, contemporary realism, and mythology combined with popular figurative traditions ranging from victorian romanticism to science fiction. Heidi Taillefer is an international artist whose work has and is currently being exhibited in museum venues within the United States. Her fine artwork has been applied to corporate projects as well, which include Bombardier Canada, the Cirque du Soleil, and Infiniti car company for whom she recently completed her second art car in Taipei, Taiwan. Taillefer continues to exhibit her work primarily in the US, and is planning to release a high end line of collectible dolls by the end of the present year.

It should be noted that Heidi Taillefer is part of an exceptional group of contemporary artists (which includes Ron English, Alex Gross, Audrey Kawasaki, etc.) participating in the Suggestivism exhibition opening on February 5th at the Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana.
